DR. DENNIS BODSON
Director, Telecommunications and Sensor Systems
Dr. Bodson began in October of 2005 as IDHS' Director
of Telecommunications and Sensor Systems. He is a telecommunications
and systems engineer with experience in both the Government and
commercial arenas and is often called upon as a Subject Matter Expert
for studies and analyses relating to emerging technology, research
and development, national/international communications and National
Security and Emergency Preparedness (NS/EP) communications.
As former Chief of the National Communications Systems
Technology and Standards Division, he participated in numerous National
Level Exercises and has extensive knowledge of the National Communications
System and its working environment.
He is a published author, with more than 60 technical
articles and 4 books published to date. Awards include the IEEE
Engineering Manager of the Year Award, Defense Communications Agency
(now DISA) Federal Engineer of the Year Award, and the IEEE Charles
Proteus Steinmetz Award for Standards. Dr. Bodson is a Registered
Engineer in the District of Columbia and Virginia, certified by
the National Council of Engineering Examiners, holds an FCC First
Class Radiotelephone with Radar endoresement and a Radiotelegraph
license, and is a Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow and Chartered Engineer
of the IEE (UK) as well as a Fellow of the Radio Club of America
and Washington Academy of Sciences. Dr. Bodson has an active TS/SCI
clearance.
